The GeezEdit Amharic app, available for $2.99 on the App Store, offers a straightforward installation process for its keyboard. Users can navigate through the following path: Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards, and select “GeezEdit Amharic.” To switch to the GeezEdit Amharic keyboard, simply hold down the Globe icon and make your selection.

Amharic, the official language of Ethiopia, utilizes the Ethiopic alphabet and is used alongside other language sets within the region.

Designed specifically for iPhone and iPad devices running iOS 15.0 and higher, GeezEdit serves as an efficient editor for typing in Amharic.

The app employs innovative technology that is safeguarded by U.S. patents 9000957 and others, as well as Ethiopian patents. This allows users to input hundreds of Ethiopic glyphs using just one or two keystrokes, making it akin to typing with the English alphabet on computers.

Users can easily mix English with the aesthetically pleasing GeezEdit Unicode Amharic font.

Additionally, the app features unique Ethiopic characters, including the Ethiopic dollar sign, Santim sign, copyright symbol, trademark, registration mark, and more.

The typing tool is versatile and can be utilized across various applications such as text messages, emails, and productivity software like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
